Bennelong in London
18 Jul – 16 Aug 2026
Wharf 1 Theatre
By Jane Harrison
Directed by Ian Michael
A determined young actor prepares for the audition of a lifetime — and imagines himself face-to-face with Bennelong, one of Australia’s most significant historical figures.
Their encounter becomes a time-bending journey to the 1780s, where Bennelong, a young Wangal man, is taken by Governor Arthur Phillip and drawn between two cultures. His story unfolds across worlds — from the Eora people to England and back again.
Written by Jane Harrison and directed by Ian Michael, this powerful work brings two First Nations men together across time, exploring identity, history and connection.
